Settle In And Watch A Signature Hawaiian Sunset At Keawakapu Beach

Can you imagine a better way to end a perfect day in paradise than with a vibrant Hawaiian sunset over the Pacific Ocean? Watching the sun slowly slip beyond the horizon is undoubtedly fabulous whether you’re viewing it from the summit of one of Hawaii’s tallest mountains or a stellar oceanfront restaurant. But we personally believe there’s little better than visiting our favorite west-facing beaches for sunset — especially this Maui gem.

During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.

Tucked away on Maui’s western shore, extending from south Kihei to Wailea’s Mokapu Beach, Keawakapu Beach is a slice of paradise from dawn to dusk. Its white, cushiony soft sand is perfect for morning strolls and sunrise yoga and the sunset views are divine.

Snorkeling is best in the morning at the beaches rocky outcrops that form the beaches northern and southern ends, and during the winter months, you might spot humpback whales frolicking off the coast — they’re said to come remarkably close to shore here.
